Beta-Alanine is a new sports supplement that is gaining popularity. Beta-alanine is a naturally occurring beta-amino acid (most other amino acids are in the alpha form); and this explains why it does not take part in the synthesis of major proteins or enzymes. However, beta-alanine affects the synthesis of carnosine. Therefore, supplementation with beta-alanine causes a significant increase in intramuscular concentrations of carnosine. In line with this, the dependence of increased intramuscular carnosine stores on the use of beta-alanine can be compared to how creatine supplementation increases the level of creatine phosphate.
Studies have shown that carnosine is an important buffer in muscle tissue that prevents acidification of the environment during intense exercise. Its contribution to the overall buffer system ranges from 10 to 20%. As you know, acidity is one of the main factors in muscle wasting.
An increase in the sensitivity of calcium channels under the influence of carnosine has also been shown, which leads to an additional increase in muscle contractility.
The supplement is effective in relieving post-workout muscle soreness and has been shown to speed up recovery from injury.
Beta-alanine manifests itself mainly as a protector of muscle tissue and a powerful buffer, so it is most necessary for athletes facing anaerobic stress, including bodybuilders, since by increasing endurance, beta-alanine indirectly increases the intensity of training, and means muscle growth.
Studies have shown that the combination with creatine was more effective in delaying muscle fatigue than either beta-alanine or creatine alone.
Relatively high doses of beta-alanine (greater than 20 mg/kg) can cause paresthesias (pins and needles sensations), which are associated with peripheral nerve irritation. Therefore, if you experience tingling sensations, then this is absolutely normal and only says that the product is working. If these sensations make you uncomfortable, reduce the dosage.
This substance is recognized as safe for health even when used in high doses.
Ingredients : beta-alanine, fructose, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharinate, natural flavor, silicon dioxide.
Mix one serving (3 g - 1 scoop) with 250 ml of water.
Training days : 1 serving 30 minutes before training and 1 serving immediately after training along with creatine and/or carbohydrates.
Non-training days : One serving in the morning. Do not exceed a dose of more than two tablespoons. Please consult with your trainer or qualified physician prior to use.
