Dietary supplement Stark Pharm - Stark Lutein & Zeaxanthin contains the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, which are natural pigments found in brightly colored vegetables, greens, and fruits. Since the human body does not produce carotenoids, they enter our body with food, accumulating in the macula (the area of the retina), which is responsible for the perception of light and ensuring sharp vision.
Under the influence of sunlight in any living organism, including humans, free radicals are formed in the retina of the eye, which negatively affect the structure of the eye.
The main function of carotenoids is to protect the eyes from damage caused by free radicals.
Lutein and zeaxanthin, also known as visual pigments, have the ability to absorb up to 80% of “harmful” light rays and prevent sunlight from penetrating the deep layers of the retina. This contributes to the formation of fewer free radicals harmful to the eyes. This is where their ratio of 5 to 1 is important.
