Food supplement OstroVit - Turmeric + Black Pepper + Ginger contains curcumin, black pepper and ginger.
Curcumin is a natural chemical compound derived from the spice known as turmeric. The compound is used as a yellow-orange food coloring and as a very strong antioxidant from the group of polyphenolic compounds that have anti-inflammatory activity and the ability to increase the amount of antioxidants produced by the body. Its bioavailability for our body is improved by the presence of piperine, which is why it is so important that both substances are taken together. Curcumin is very commonly used as a support in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, and ischemic retinopathy.
Black pepper is a spice containing an alkaloid - piperine accelerates the metabolism of certain substances. Piperine, contained in black pepper fruits, enhances the process of thermogenesis, that is, the process of generating heat, during which the body burns calories, as well as the process of lipolysis through adrenergic receptors, that is, the oxidation of adipose tissue. Piperine stimulates the sensory endings in the digestive tract, thereby increasing gastric acid secretion and this helps improve digestion. Piperine also aids in the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals, such as selenium, B vitamins, and beta-carotene. In addition, it facilitates the absorption of coenzyme Q10 and increases the absorption of resveratrol or curcumin. Piperine may also increase the absorption of certain medications.
