5-HTP

It is an amino acid found in nature, particularly in the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia. It is a precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin. It is also an intermediate in the metabolism of tryptophan, one of the most important amino acids.

5-Hydroxytryptophan is not only a precursor of serotonin, it also produces melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It ensures natural falling asleep. Therefore, 5-hydroxytryptophan, as a melatonin precursor, can normalize sleep.
