Description

Stark Pharm - Glucosamine & MSM dietary supplement contains glucosamine sulfate and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) supplemented with vitamin C. Glucosamine sulfate is an amino sugar that is part of the polysaccharides such as chitosan and chitin, it is one of the most common monosaccharides. In nature, glucosamine is found in shellfish shells, as well as animal bones or bone marrow, and some types of fungi. In the production of additives, it is obtained by hydrolysis of the exoskeletons of crustaceans, less often by the fermentation of wheat or corn grains. In the United States of America, glucosamine sulfate is one of the most widely used dietary supplements. There are two forms of glucosamine on the market: hydrochloride and sulfate. Hydrochloride is quite rare, this salt does not differ in effectiveness from sulfate.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a natural source of sulfur, without which protein synthesis, the production of hormones and enzymes, and tissue growth are impossible. It can only be taken in pure form, tk. insufficient amount is supplied with food. MSM is involved in the synthesis of the amino acids methionine and cysteine. They are the building blocks of muscle protein.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is one of the most important vitamins in our body, because it is able to influence many processes occurring in it. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, normalizes capillary permeability, participates in the synthesis of collagen and procollagen, the metabolism of folic acid and iron, as well as the synthesis of steroid hormones and catecholamines, regulates blood clotting, participates in the process of hematopoiesis, has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, is a factor in protecting the body from the effects of stress, increases resistance to infections. In addition, it acts as a fast absorption catalyst for other vitamins and minerals.

Function in the body

Like collagen and chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine can be produced naturally in the human body. This substance is one of the main building elements of connective tissues? cartilage and ligaments. Glucosamine is part of cell membranes and proteins that are part of them. Glucosamine binds cells together, making tissues stronger and more resistant to stretching.

Directly or indirectly, glucosamine is involved in the formation or strengthening of the following tissues:

  • Cartilage (covers articular surfaces)
  • Tendons
  • Bundles
  • Synovial fluid (Nourishes cartilage and lubricates articular surfaces)
  • muscles
  • Leather
  • Bones
  • Nails and hair
  • Heart valves
  • Blood vessels

In addition, glucosamine is actively used for the immune defense of the body (interferon and immunoglobulins), it is necessary for the synthesis of hormones (gonadotropin), enzymes and other important elements.

Application in sports

It is known that in bodybuilding, powerlifting and other hard sports, training is carried out with large weights, which cause overload of the joints and microtraumatization of the ligaments and tendons. Studies have shown that damaged ligaments and articular surfaces require significantly more glucosamine sulfate to maintain normal properties.

In addition to trials of the drug related to the treatment of joint diseases, a study was conducted in which scientists found positive effects when used in athletes with pain in the knee joints. From this we can conclude that the supplement will be useful for other joints.

The first signs of dysfunction of the joint during sports: crunching, crepitus, pain, stiffness. In these cases, it is necessary to start taking glucosamine and chondroitin. The same sports supplements can be used to prevent injuries, strengthen ligaments, and speed up recovery after an injury.
