Description
Dietary supplement Puritan's Pride - Vitamin D3 contains vitamin D3, referred to as the "sunshine vitamin", a common deficient nutrient essential for the proper functioning of the body.
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is synthesized to some extent in the skin from provitamin D3, provided the skin is adequately exposed to ultraviolet radiation. As a result of solar radiation, vitamin D3 is formed, which is the precursor of active forms - calcidiol and calcitriol, produced in the liver and kidneys.
Vitamin D3 determines the correct calcium-phosphate balance. Calcium and phosphorus form hydroxyapatite crystals, which account for almost 90% of bone mass. Therefore, proper management of calcium and phosphorus in the body is essential for optimal bone mineralization.
